Colonial Life

I’m 27 and I live with my husband and my 2 kids.I drive to work at 4:00 in the morning and get there at 5:00.I start my day as mixing sand and chemicals,in a bowl called a crucible and melt it very hot. Then,I dip a pipe into the mixture. After that, I blow into the pipe forming a bubble and then shape it with special tools. Then I take a 20 minute break. The glass must then be cooled slowly and evenly,if not it becomes brittle. Many hands are needed to make glass. It takes a lot of lung power to blow through the pipe,so I only work to months in a year. The order of the glass made is Soda-Lime Glass,Oilsking Glass, and Flint Glass. Then I drive home to my family, then repeat it all again.glass2_0
